They’d all lived happily in a ranch just outside San Diego. His father and grandfather were stuntmen in the new movie business up in Los Angeles. When Harry had passed in the Spring of 1931, he’d left Fontainbleu - the ostrich - to Jake in his will. ‘Fonty’, the bird had been in a movie with Fay Wray in 1929. No one was sure what to do with her until Jake had an idea one night when he was drunk. Once a week he would be stopped by the cops. Yet no one could find the law he was breaking.
